Get to Portland. That's all that today's ride asks, all that it promises, all that it delivers. The rain is a sideshow. It's cold from the get go, the rain soaks me to the bone, but I eat it all up with the prospect of that long-awaited rest.
Portland appears in the afternoon on a bike path populated with heavily tattooed hipsters, then city streets, then hugs and a warm bed. I made it.
