I had a late start to begin with after cooking myself a big breakfast, then it took a while to get out of town because I spoke to a family from Guatemala City here for a wedding then met a guy from the Czech Republic who has been living here for a few years with his Guatemalan wife. The day's riding began with a 500 meter climb back up to the Panamericana. Once I got to the top I stopped for another breakfast.

More rolling hills and diesel-belching trucks for the rest of the day. I thought about camping but opted for a nice but cheap hotel in Tecpán. I had myself a Mexican dinner of a torta ahogada and tacos al pastor before retiring early.

The cobblestones of Antigua. Makes for a bumpy ride, especially fully loaded.

I had to stop for breakfast number 2 when I saw "La Casa del Waffle". I had the "deswaffle". Un deswaffle total. No maple syrup though, that was a disappointment.

These things scare me. This one looks to be wired reasonably well but I still dream of electrocution.
