I'm feeling tired this morning, appropriately enough, on this last day of the trip. I don't have to be in North Phoenix until 3pm so I'm taking my time. First order of business: breakfast. There are enough clouds out today that I actually have to wear my fleece pretty much all day.

Apache Junction city ride.

The riding isn't too exciting, mostly big boulevards through Apache Junction, but it gets a little better when I head northwest on a canal path. Google is putting together an itinerary that tries to stay on bike paths. It's not very efficient, but I'm not in a rush so I follow it. At least it changes the monotony of straight avenue, stop light, more straight avenue, etc...

Salt River bike path.

I ride along the Salt River for a few miles. It has some -- but not much -- water in it, part river part wash at this time of year I guess. All day long I'm passing a seemingly endless stream of strip malls and shopping centers. That's Phoenix.

I said I would arrive at 3pm, and without really trying I get there almost exactly on time. I'm relieved to drop my gear and settle in for a long rest.
