I feel better today, just in time for more heavy climbing as I get closer to the Pyrénées. Mentally, however, I'm having a what-the-hell-am-I-doing moment. This crazy doctor has come along and sent my life off on this wierd tangent where I'm living on a bicycle and getting violently ill in hotel rooms in random Spanish cities. It's all a bit surreal. The upside of bicycle touring is that there is always a clear objective, in the event: get over the Pyrénées and back to France. I suppose I could give up and get on a train but I'm too stubborn for that. In spite of my wandering mind I climb up to a campground in Tavascan to finish off the day. I chat with the owner for a while about options for getting over the mountains. It's looking like the best route is over into Val d'Aran. No problem with that, I've been there before on the motorcycle and am looking forward to seeing it again.

Blocked by the mountains ahead.

I'm feeling good after dinner. Recovery doesn't come a moment too soon, tomorrow I'm in for a major climb.
