I went out for an egg sandwich for breakfast, packed up all my gear, then spent 15 minutes chatting with the nice woman who runs the hospedaje along with her husband. The ride from Urcos into Cusco was rearview mirror affair with lots of trucks overtaking each other in both directions. There was some climbing but nothing major, and when I got into a section of the city called San Sebastian a bicycle path miraculously appeared, getting me off the street for 5 or 6 kilometers.
I just followed the signs for the "centro historic" and easily found the hostal "Estrellita" that I had heard about from someone. I got a room and met two French women from Paris (wait that never happens, I never meet French people!). We ended up spending the afternoon and evening together swapping stories of our travels (they have spent a lot of time in Asia). We went out to the supermarket and made a spaghetti dinner that didn´t turn out very well. Avoid the "Santa Catarina" brand of pasta in Peru.
