Going to ring up some kilometers today to make up for yesterday's rain-shortened effort. I've gotten many "hellos" and waves in Thailand, but today takes the cake; people are calling out to me all day long. The other thing I notice today is that this area seems to be almost entirely Muslim. The closer I get to the border with Malaysia, the more Muslim it gets.
It's hot as usual, lots of sweating and drinking lots of water. The ride is pretty dull, just flat through palm plantations broken up by the occasional town.
Satun is a good-sized city. Last one before the Malaysian border. I book a place, super cheap again at 7 dollars. The lady running it says she does laundry so I gladly hand over my stinking cargo. I was desperately in need of a wash.
Tomorrow I should be well into Malaysia. A last check on what I need to cross the border, I should be okay with just proof of a flight from Singapore if anyone asks.
