A monument to Tom Mix, an actor who died in a car crash on route 79 in 1940. I had never heard of him before. He was a cowboy/entertainer in the vain of Roy Rogers. Someone or someones put a lot of effort into keeping this monument up. There are laminated flyers on the picnic table next to the statue that tell the story of Mr. Mix's career and untimely death; and a guestbook to sign.
